Inverness - Edinburgh - Skye

I'm traveling around a bit this week, first stop Inverness last night for a marketing training event and on to Edinburgh tomorrow for training. It was a good talk and I learnt a few different things about marketing.

Its 2.45 at the moment and I plan on leaving Inverness around 3ish to head to Edinburgh. There I will be staying with friends and working shadowing a marketing officer in Scran. It should be good as the fiddle festival is on this weekend and I plan to go to a session or two.

All is well in the Isle of Skye - I'll be back on air on Cuillin Fm on Sunday between 7 and 9pm. It would be really nice to get that set up on line so that friends in Ireland could listen in. Unfortunately Cuillin FM don't have a web licence and it will be a while before we get one.

The Graduation

I managed to graduate from the Gaelic course and they gave me a cup!! Something about improvements in Gaelic and the teachers thought I'd done really well. So here I am with my lovely cup and a cheesy grin to go with it!!!

I had a nice night with friends and just chilled out. Was a nice peaceful graduation.

Live on Cuillin FM

Hi all,

I went live on Radio Cuillin last night and it was fantastic. Carol (a friend and student on the Media course) were doing a show filled with music, fun and chat. Ri-ra agus ruaille buaille is the name of the show and its all a learning curve. The first song that I went to play didn't work. It was a disaster!!! There was dead space for 10 secs before I realised and I had to pull the microphone and start speaking!!

All is well that ends well!! And the show was a success, I think, I hope. Anyway if any of ye want to look at me while I am on air...I work a Sunday show between 7 and 8 and the email address www.cuillinfm.co.uk

Preparing for the Parentals

Well, the week has arrived for the parentals to come and visit me in my new house. I'm really excited cause its a nice distraction from work. Other than that I am just back from a week in Glasgow which was partly work, partly fun. I was presenting at a teaching fair which was good. Well its back to work for me. My boss has just discovered that there is an error in one of our printed materials - £500 down the drain. This is a bad day!

The mountain climb!

Just to show ye all that me, my housemate Kirsten and a work colleague Shirley climbed three mountains on Sat.

Are we crazy? Yes!! It was brilliant, we went up Beinn na Caillich (the old woman's mountain) which is just beside the nearest village to my house. This then led us round a horse shoe and we managed three mountains. It was excellent but my legs are killing me now!!

Rubbish at this

Well, it has to be said that I am absolutely rubbish at keeping this thing up to date!! So whats been going on in the last while? Lots but at the same time not a lot!! I moved house. Thats the first thing. I have a job and a house! With that I'm working hard on a day to day basis and chilling out in the evenings. I've uploaded a few pics. There is one of three friends on a night out in Edinburgh. One of my friend Craig who is leaving to go and live in Lewis (crazy man!!) and I can't remember what the third photo is!! Aw well. I'll just have to let ye work it out for yerselves.

Just a few pictures from Ireland. The first is Morag (a friend from Skye) with Beathag Mhoireasdan (a Gaidhlig singer). That was taken at the festival we were at in Cavan. The second is me driving the car on the way home....see how happy I am to be getting rid of that Scottish crew!!!
The third picture is one I took for Sarah for her new flat so if you want to see the real thing you'll have to visit her!! And lastly is the group photo of all off us in Cavan with two Irish friends we made.
It was all very good fun.

Uill, ciamar a tha sibh uile? I've been very lazy bout blogging in the last while, but hey it's my holidays and I've been enjoying them in Ireland. I've no pictures cause I can't be bothered uploading on the dinosaur machine that my parents call a computer!!
I'll try and get some pictures on when I get back to Skye and get my computer set up again. Its starting to get busy now though and hard to keep up with course work never mind keeping an online diary!! Anyhow hope ye are all well.

Seo an car agam...Anna. Tha i sgoinneil an-drasta. This is Anna, my car and she is wonderful at the moment. Well apart from the fact that there is a great big hole in the exhaust!!! I know I have to fix it but I haven't got round to it yet!! She has served me well so far, for what I paid for her!!

Paddy's night

This is Alex and me at Hogmanay on Prince's St. It was a great party and I like this picture. Its such a long time ago I can't remember much that happened. It was good though.

Latha Fheill Padraig

Anyhow, here it is. My first blog. I'm going to blog in both Gaidhlig and English...so I hope ye Irish understand the Gaidhlig. Its not that hard to work out.
Anyway I'm going to try and update this with news and pictures so you can see what its like here on Skye. First of all....its Paddy's day and thanks to my mum I have Irish tac and green flags to put up in the pub. I've spent the day wearing a big Irish hat and everyone has been looking at me funny!! They just don't get how big Paddy's day is and they think I'm mad. I know I'm not so it's ok!!
